Delta Flights Resume After System Outage

Some flight cancellations linger today after a Delta systems outage halted air travel Sunday evening. Last night a 5 pm flight out of Gulfport Biloxi International Airport did not leave until 11 pm…and a flight scheduled to arrive in Gulfport at 10 pm did not land until 2 am. Delta’s IT systems went down Sunday evening around 6:30 causing delta to ground domestic flights. This caused major delays and about 170 cancellations nationwide Sunday night. Passengers in Atlanta waited around for hours for updates on Delta’s issue with the computer system.

“Came through here and saw it was relatively packed, tried to log in, couldn’t log in, and then we were told there was a cyber shut down or something.” “They came and passed out snacks to everybody we…they told us we could take what we wanted they made sure everybody had a water or something but we’ve been out here for hours, literally.”

Delta officials say a waiver has been issued for travel scheduled Sunday and Monday for rebooking on February third.
