The November 5th general election is less than five weeks away, and if you’re still undecided on who you will vote for in the secretary of state’s race, a debate between the two candidates is scheduled for later today at William Carey University’s Hattiesburg campus.

Republican state senator and Pascagoula native Michael Watson and former longtime Hattiesburg mayor and democrat Johnny Dupree are both scheduled to appear at a candidates forum today at 4 pm at William Carey University’s Thomas Fine Arts Auditorium at its Hattiesburg campus.

William Carey plans to live stream the forum.

The forum is free and open to the public.

Once the final tally is in, there will be a new secretary of state, since current secretary of state, republican Delbert Hosemann is in the race against state representative and democrat Jay Hughes to be Mississippi’s next lieutenant governor.
