Deadly tour bus accident in Alabama

A tour bus full of high school band students fell down a 50 foot ravine near Loxley, Alabama early this morning.
It happened around 5:30. Several people were injured and at least one person is dead. The bus was returning home to Channelview, Texas from a school trip.
A video of the crash shows the front axle separated from the vehicle and doors to the luggage compartments ripped off. The roof of the bus also appears to be damaged.
Officials say out of the approximately 45 people who were on the bus, 12 to 20 people were hurt.
Several medical helicopters responded to the scene as well as police and first responders. Baldwin County Sheriff Hoss Mack said, “We do believe there were possibly two buses that were traveling together. This would have been the bus that would have been in the rear. The other bus, we do not believe was involved. In fact, it’s in route to Texas as we speak.”
The interstate was closed down in both directions after the crash. Authorities are still investigating the cause.
