Deadline for Voter Registration: What you Need to Know

If you want to have your voice heard in Mississippi’s upcoming election, time is running out.

This is a reminder on the heels of National Voter Registration Day, which was September 24.

Mississippians who are eligible to vote but remain unregistered are encouraged to submit their voter registration application as soon as possible.

The voter registration deadline for the November 5th general election is just 12 days away on Monday, October 7th.

To register in person, head to your local circuit clerk’s office by the deadline. You must be registered by 5 pm on October 7th.

If you plan to register by mail, your registration application must be postmarked by October 7th.

Eligible voters must be at least 18 or will be 18 years old by November 5th, and must be a Mississippi resident without conviction of a serious crime and who is legally mentally competent.

Right now, there are more than 1.9 million active registered voters in the state of Mississippi.
