Danielle Dewitt Appeal in Court
Former Hancock High School Coach Danielle Dewitt is appealing the 30 year sentence she received after being found guilty on two counts of unlawful touching of a child for lustful purposes.
Last month, Dewitt’s attorney, Jim Davis, filed a motion for a new trial based on claims that one juror was not completely honest when questioned about his residency in Hancock County during the selection process. This afternoon, Davis presented his appeal to the court.
A separate motion was also filed requesting a lesser sentence.
As the appeal continues this afternoon, News 25 has a reporter inside the courtroom and will have more details at 9 and 10.
