Cruisin’ The Coast parade in Long Beach

Jeff Davis Avenue in Long Beach filled up today with more than 600 cars for the Cruisin’ the Coast Annual Kickoff Party Parade.

The Mississippi Gulf Coast Corvette Club hosts the event each year. Drivers of the classic cars stopped in front of Long Beach City Hall to share the make, model, and where the car is coming from with the parade emcees Tom and Juli Bocek.

Of course, it wouldn’t be a South Mississippi parade without Mardi Gras beads flying everywhere. Attendee Marley Frazer said, “I love to dress up for things like this. I love to be a part of things like this because it makes me feel like more a part of my community.”

Emcee Juli Bocek said, “The rain gave us a break and everyone came out to enjoy the parade and the kids enjoyed it. We had all these beautiful cars go by and everybody is hooting and hollering for their favorite car. We really just enjoy this so much. It gets to be bigger and bigger every year.”

The event ended with an after party at the Long Beach Harbor and it included food and live entertainment.
