Cruisin’ the Coast is less than two weeks away

In just under two weeks, one of the Mississippi Gulf Coast’s most popular events is set to begin.

Cruisin’ the Coast will kick off its festivities starting Sunday, October 4th. However, due to COVID-19, there has been a few changes to the annual classic car event.

The CTC Kickoff Parade in Long Beach on October 5th will still go on as planned. No throwing will be allowed though and all participants are asked to remain in their vehicles.

Additionally, the flame thrower competition, Beau Rivage Cruisin’ Sock Hop, and Burn ‘em up in the Pass events have all been postponed until next year.

Despite the adjustments that have had to be made this year, Cruisin’ Executive Director Woody Bailey says it is important to have something fun to look forward to. “With all that we’ve been through, I think it’s important for the event to happen to put a little fun in everyone’s life. I think the people that travel to the event and enjoy looking at all the cars and I think all the locals enjoy what Cruisin’ the Coast has to offer. So, it’s a combination of fun, helping the economy out and, you know, with the COVID-19 situation, doing it in as safe a manner as possible. And that’s what we’re going to try to accomplish this year.”

Cruisin’ the Coast has also extended the deadline to request a refund to Wednesday, September 23rd.
