Crime Stoppers increases monetary rewards
The Mississippi Coast Crime Stoppers needs your help and they are now offering an even bigger monetary reward for anyone who helps solve a crime.
Crime Stoppers encourages community members to assist local law enforcement in the fight against crime. Today, they held a press conference at the Biloxi Visitors Center to announce new reward amounts up to $2,500.
Family and friends of victims of unsolved cases around the Gulf Coast joined in on the meeting, including Twanna Washington. Her son, 23-year-old Dante Washington, was shot and killed on June 6th in Bay St. Louis. Xavier Simmons is wanted for his murder. “My thing is just wanting him to do the right thing and turn himself in. That would give me and my family a lot of peace. Anyone that knows anything needs to know that Crime Stoppers is anonymous. They can speak to an operator. They don’t have to give their information, but at least just give me and my family peace. He left behind my one-year-old grandson, little brothers, and we’re just real torn up behind it.”
Crime Stoppers hopes increasing the reward amount will bring in more tips and help give the victims’ families some closure.
