COVID-19 vaccine availability in Mississippi
The Mississippi State Department of Health held a news conference regarding COVID-19 vaccine availability in the state.
State health leaders said Mississippi typically receives a weekly allocation of 37,000 doses which will be increased to 43,000 along with the additional 9,000 doses.
So far, 200,000 Mississippians have received the first dose of the vaccine.
Patients can now schedule their second dose right after they receive the first dose. Dr. Thomas Dobbs said, “We do have second dose appointments available. They should be available for everyone who have had a first dose already and we have the system worked out. You should be able to schedule your second dose immediately after.”
Vaccinations are in high demand and appointments may not be available in all areas. New appointment openings are added every week.
