Covey Awards return to the Coast
The Coast Observer returned once again to host the hottest award ceremony along the Mississippi Coast, the Covey Awards.
This award ceremony began in 2004 to honor those in the food industry, music industry, entertainment industry, and more across the Coast.
This year, the ceremony featured 46 different categories. Residents of the Coast were able to vote for their favorite businesses from January 1st to September 30th with the top three vote-getters getting invited to the MTV style ceremony.
Coast Observer Owner Cheli Strumila says she could not be happier to see how much the show has grown since it first began. “What it has turned into is a night of celebrating all of us. Celebrating all of our restaurants, all our bars, all our casinos, all our live music so that it has grown into just a night for the service industry and entertainers to come out and celebrate all their hard work.”
Live performers performed as well with the opening act featuring former Voice contestant Hailey Green.
