Courtney Farms in Ocean Springs hosted a Grow your own Beverage Garden Workshop
Over the weekend, Courtney Farms in Ocean Springs hosted a cocktail, mocktails, teas, and infusion ‘Growing your own Beverage Garden’ workshop.
The hands-on workshop allowed each guest to plant their own beverage garden with herbs of their choosing, including mint, rosemary, and chamomile.
After planting the garden, guests learned ways to incorporate it into a drink, learned how to care for the plants, and learned how to harvest the plants.
Samples of different beverages were also handed out. Workshop organizer Stephanie Pendleton tells News 25 after being on lockdown last year due to COVID-19, many people grew gardens but didn’t know what to do with them. “It was a year of staying at home in the garden and it seemed to explore in people’s minds, doing this at home, growing their own vegetables, growing their own herbs. So, I decided to maybe show people what they can do with the things they are growing. It’s more fun to use the things you’re growing than just watching them.”
Courtney Farms will host another beverage workshop March 28th. For more information on how to register visit the Courtney Farms Facebook page.
