Couple Robbed at Gunpoint Behind Leo’s Pizza in Ocean Springs

A brother and sister were robbed at gun point Wednesday night behind Leo’s Wood Fired Pizza in Ocean Springs.

The Ocean Springs Police Department says the incident happened around 8:30 p.m., when they went behind the restaurant to smoke a cigarette. A black male described as 5’11, 195 pounds with facial hair then approached them, asking for a cigarette. After they gave him the cigarette, he returned to ask for a light, then pulled out a handgun, taking the couple’s cell phones and cash. He took off on foot down Desoto Avenue.

Captain William Jackson of the Ocean Springs Police Department says, “This time of year, I urge people to be careful and be aware of your surroundings because this time of year, people know that people are out and they’re gonna’ have cash on them, they’re gonna’ have credit cards, they’re gonna’ have valuables on them, so they trying to make an easy score so they don’t have to work.”
