Competition Day at VGA Championship

Game faces are on at the Fallen Oak Golf Course for the first competition day of the VGA Championship.
Eighty veterans are competing for the number one title of the second annual tournament.
There are three divisions: veteran, combat wounded and family. Within each division are four handicapped flights and an open handicap women’s flight. Participants range from enlisted personnel to three star generals.
The winner of the championship gets more than just bragging rights. Cofounder of the VGA Aaron Ojard said, “A custom tailored red jacket, which is our signature, they get a trophy and there’s a lot of opportunities that they get. A full paid trip to play Pine Valley. They get invited to attend the Masters with us.”
The 2015 winner of the VGA Championship is an active member of the U.S. Army and is competing again this year.
