Community Development Block Grant

The Biloxi City Council plans to execute a sub-recipient agreement regarding the programs involved in the 2018 Community Development Block Grant.

The grant helps provide services to low income individuals. The Gulf Coast Center for Nonviolence, the Moore Community House, and the Open Doors Homeless Coalition are all recipients of the grant.

The CDBG will assist the Gulf Coast Center for Nonviolence with therapeutic preschool and shelter programs.

This helps kids who are exposed to domestic violence or sexually assaulted. Gulf Coast Center for Nonviolence CEO Stacey Riley said, “To be able to be chosen by the City of Biloxi to provide this funding is an honor for us. It also shows the impact that we are having on the community to continue to provide these services.”

Gulf Coast Center for Nonviolence looks to receive $10,000 in grant money. The Open Doors Homeless Coalition will receive $20,000 and the Moore Community House will receive $25,000.
