Community blood drive in Biloxi

The City of Biloxi and the American Red Cross are challenging the community to roll up their sleeves to save a life for a community blood drive this week.

The blood donations will help restock blood supply and provide patients in local hospitals and elsewhere blood when needed. Not to mention, donors will receive a five dollar Amazon e-gift card.

The friendly two-day challenge started today at the Doctor Frank G. Gruich Senior Community Center on Howard Avenue and will continue Wednesday at the Woolmarket City Center off Kayleigh Cove. Cecilia Dobbs-Walton with the City of Biloxi Public Affairs said, “There will be snacks throughout the day and make sure you bring your ID. Just a couple of little pointers, make sure you wear a short sleeve shirt or a shirt that can be rolled up and come out and donate blood if you can tomorrow noon to 5 p.m. It’s just a challenge in the community to try and get residents out and donate blood so they can help people in need whenever they need blood.”

A donation from a single person can save up to three lives.
