Comeback Coolers aiding Hurricane Laura victims

The Ocean Springs organization Comeback Coolers is heading to Texas and Louisiana next weekend to aid Laura victims.

If you’re interested in helping you can donate a cooler. The coolers need to be able to hold ice.  The group has a cooler doctor who is able to repair handles, wheels, and spickets.

You can also decorate your coolers by signing it and writing a message of encouragement. Bring the cooler to Ocean Springs Lumber and Supply by next Wednesday.

You can donate items like drinks, baby wipes, and oranges as well. You can check out Comeback Coolers on Facebook to see a list of items they need. They also have an Amazon wish list.

Next Thursday at 4 p.m., Comeback Coolers is having a packing party at the Ocean Springs Civic Center where they will be loading the coolers up and preparing to donate them to the victims.  Comeback Coolers Organizer Heather Eason said, “You can look on our Facebook page and see some reactions from people. This is a mission of love and hope. People are going to get the things they need to clean up, but to have someone come in and care about them and people that have been through things like this before is really meaningful to people to know other people care. Sometimes we pray with people. Sometimes they just need someone to listen to what they have been through.”

Comeback Coolers have been determined to make the ‘Comeback greater than the setback” since 2016. Aiding Laura victims next weekend will be their 13th mission.
