Colonel Lovette nearing first 100 days with Keesler Air Force Base

After serving on more than 13 assignments around the world, Colonel Debra Lovette is pleased to call the Gulf Coast her newest home.
The new wing commander at the Keesler Air Force Base, Colonel Lovette commands more than 12,000 airmen and civilians and providing technical training for officers, enlisted, and civilians of the U.S. Air Force, Air National Guard, and Air Force Reserves as well as other department of defense agencies in addition to international students.
The commander tells News 25 this is her favorite destination thus far. “I absolutely love it here. This is a place where I know many military people get assigned that have never lived here before and many of them decide to stay after they get separated or retire from the military and that’s because the community or the environment is exactly what you want.”
Colonel Lovette says one of her main goals during her time at Keesler is to strengthen in the partnership the base already has within the community.
