Collecting supplies ahead of Hurricane Michael

If you’re looking for a way to donate to relief efforts in Florida, the City of Long Beach is already taking up donations.

They are collecting water, Gatorade, cleaning supplies, toilet paper, five gallon buckets, gift cards, and Advil or Aleve for Panama City Beach.

Jenny Levens with the City of Long Beach says they feel it is so important to help those who have been so gracious to us in the past. “I think it’s just always important to give back. You never know when we’re going to be in the same position again, so it’s always good to help out. You don’t always know what a helping hand does. I mean we’ve experienced it firsthand so we always just pitch in where we can help. And everybody that helps it’s just another helping hand to get everybody back on their feet.”

If you would like to make a donation to this relief effort you can drop off your items to either of the Long Beach fire departments or the Long Beach Police Department. They plan on collecting donations until sometime next week.
