Cold weather impacting plants
It’s the beginning of March, but we’ve experienced unseasonably warm weather in February.
With the temperature dropping to freezing in some areas over the last few days, places like Fazzio’s Home and Farm Center have to take special care of its plants.
The farm center’s garden manager Karen Ball tells News 25 employees spent all weekend wrapping small plants and trees and they will only be unwrapped if a customer asks for them.
The warm weather causes the plants to bloom before its time then the cold snap kills the new buds. Ball says they will start unwrapping around Thursday when things warm up.
