Coast Observer 2019 Covey Awards

It’s a night to honor hundreds of people in the community who work hard in giving the best Gulf Coast experience.

Tomorrow night is the 2019 Coast Observer Covey Awards at the Hard Rock Casino, beginning with a walk down the red carpet at 5:30 p.m. and the awards ceremony at 7.

Dozens of nominated restaurants, bars, and other businesses will share the spotlight as they receive recognition for helping tourism thrive on the Coast.

Cheli Strumila with the Coast Observer tells News 25 this is the award the nominees want to strive to achieve. “One thing is we have hundreds of restaurants, many casinos, many bars, lots of bands, so when you get enough votes to be invited to the Covey awards as top three best of the best, it’s a huge honor. And then if your name is called to win the Covey, that’s an even bigger honor and you will see the Covey Award icon all over billboards, all over websites. So, it has become the biggest award achievement for the service industry, gaming industry, dinning, restaurant and bands.”

So come out in your glitzy dress or polished-up suit to see them and many others well-known along the Gulf Coast.

Our own Taylor Rubach and Andrew Scherer will be presenting a Covey Award.

General admission tickets are $35 until midnight tonight. Tomorrow tickets will be $50 at the door.
