Coast LGBTQ affirming church moves locations

June is Pride Month which is a time for members of the LGBTQ community to come together and feel accepted.

Here on the Coast there is an unusual meeting space for many members of the LGBTQ community to gather. It’s a church and it’s the only one of its kind here on the Coast.

Lighthouse St. Nicholas Episcopal Community has been on the Coast for many years. They previously held services in Biloxi, but they recently moved to Long Beach and now hold their services at St. Patrick’s Episcopal Church. Father Errol Montgomery-Robertson said, “I’m finding it very interesting that something like this is happening, especially in Mississippi. We really kind of are an experiment, bringing two congregations together so that has not really been done, at least not in this diocese before.”

Anyone is welcome to attend service at the church on Sundays at 11 a.m., but on High Holy Days service is held at 10 a.m.
