Coast Kennel Club wraps up their annual Mississippi Gulf Coast Beach Classic Dog Show

The Mississippi Gulf Coast Kennel Club wrapped up their 10th annual Mississippi Gulf Coast Beach Classic Dog Show Sunday at the Mississippi Coast Coliseum.

The event began Friday and lasted three days. There were approximately 600 entries representing 197 breeds approved by the American Kennel Club.

These pups were competing each day for both the best in show and reserve best in show titles.

This was the second stop of the Southern Sweep Circuit which hosts three regional shows.

According to the American Kennel Club, the event brought in about $400,000 to the local economy. American Kennel Club Judge Terry Depietro said, “It’s very important to the exhibitors who are long-time breeders or good breeders to show what they produced, how good their dogs are, or how much they have progressed with their breeding program. It’s also very important for the people who have purchased dogs so that they can have an opportunity to show their dogs in different venues.”

The final stop for the circuit will be this Wednesday, September 8th through Sunday the 12th in Mobile, Alabama.
