Coast churches offering online services for Easter Sunday
Easter Sunday will be a little different this year due to the COVID-19 pandemic, however churches in South Mississippi are still finding ways for you to safely attend a service.
Different ministries and churches are following the social distancing rules to limit the spread of the Coronavirus.
Most have taken advantage of social media platforms to stream services online, including Pastor Sonny Adolph with First Missionary Baptist Church located in Gulfport.
He tells News 25 even more people are now relying on words of inspiration during these tough times especially on Easter Sunday. “What we are celebrating is something that was empty also. It was an empty tomb that caused us to even have this celebration on Easter in the first place. So, the fact that the building is empty doesn’t mean that the church has to be.”
First Missionary Baptist Church will have three different services on Easter Sunday. Two will take place on the Zoom app at 7:45 a.m. and 9 a.m. and then a Facebook livestream at 11 a.m.
