Coast child dies from rare brain cancer

Four Coast children have now died from a rare childhood cancer called DIPG.

Three-year-old Brooklyn Willis from Pascagoula died Wednesday morning around 10 a.m. She had a seven month fight with the rare and incurable childhood brain tumor.

In 2017, Sophia Myers died of DIPG and since then her parents have started the SoSo Strong Foundation which raises money to find a cure for this pediatric cancer. Joshua Myers said, “The parents all look sad, like we are in pain, but the kids are the ones who go through it, right? So, we have the easy part. So just don’t forget about Brooklyn. She had a GoFundMe page to try to help with the funeral costs.”
