Most Coast casinos open today with new safety guidelines in place
Many Coast casinos opened their doors back open to the public this morning.
At the Golden Nugget in Biloxi, many people lined up out in front of the casino waiting until they were officially opened to the public at 8 a.m.
Even though the casinos are back open, they look different than they did before. At the Golden Nugget all employees are required to wear a mask and they have spaced out their machines to allow for social distancing. They also have signs all around the building to remind guests to follow the new guidelines.
Employees tell News 25 it took a lot of hard work to get the casinos ready to reopen but they are excited to see customers again after many months. Golden Nugget General Manager/ Vice President Chett Harrison said, “Well, we are tired for one because the order came down last Friday. We kind of knew something was coming so we got started a little but, we’ve been in high gear since last Friday morning. We are tired, but we are ready after two months.”
The Golden Nugget will have all their attractions open to the public including their hotel and restaurants. The pool will be open, but only to hotel guests. No day passes are being sold at this time.
