City of Gulfport announces passing of former Mayor Leroy Urie
GULFPORT, Miss. (WXXV)- The City of Gulfport shares the passing of former Mayor Leroy Urie.
Mayor Urie served Gulfport from 1985 to 1989. The city says he dedicated his leadership and service to the community during his time in office.
In a Facebook post, the city honors his contributions to the city and extends their deepest condolences to his family, friends, and all knew who Mayor Urie.
They are asking for the community to join them in keeping the Urie family in your thoughts and prayers.
Details on funeral arrangements have not yet been announced.
