City of Biloxi reacts to spike in COVID-19 cases

The City of Biloxi has been working hard to keep citizens informed. Each day they release a daily video briefing regarding coronavirus to the public.

Biloxi Mayor FoFo Gilich weighed in on the spike of COVID-19 cases in Harrison County. He pointed out that the number of cases has risen since many businesses have reopened.

In the video, the mayor said the next few days will be important moving ahead and said “the City of Biloxi will take any and all measures to protect our citizens.”

City officials say the mayor wants to make sure businesses are open but they are open safely. Cecilia Dobbs Walton with the City of Biloxi said, “With the numbers spiking yesterday, it did strike a concern in Mayor Gilich’s mind. We are opening things. We are going out and about. People are visiting others. One big thing that everyone needs to remember is that we are still in a pandemic.”
