City of Biloxi Infrastructure update

$50 million worth of infrastructure is underway east of Oak Street on Point Cadet in the City of Biloxi. This is just one of numerous projects going on right now.

This includes the major water project taking shape in Woolmarket, plus the major drainage project in the works on Shriner’s Boulevard.

A new boardwalk on Oak Street is in progress as well.

All of this work came to a standstill due to the rain that hit South Mississippi over a week ago. Now, it is back to work for all the construction including work on the Saenger Theatre. Vincent Creel with the City of Biloxi Public Affairs said, “A public works crew is going to start removing some of the fixed seating over at Saenger Theatre. What we are looking to do is move the renovations inside now. We got the outside we are thinking to where it has been sealed to where water can no longer get into the Saenger Theatre whenever we have a torrential downpour. Now, we are moving to the inside.”

There’s still no reopening date for the Saenger Theatre at this time.
