Christmas in July at MGM Park

The halls were decked and Christmas music filled the house at MGM Park tonight.
It might seem a bit unusual seeing St. Nick on the Gulf Coast midsummer, but the Salvation Army was celebrating Christmas in July with the Biloxi Shuckers tonight.
They were collecting canned goods, taking monetary donations and ringing the bell in front of their iconic red kettle, all in hopes of improving life for those less fortunate than others.
News 25 spoke with Major Gary Sturdivant from the Salvation Army about their partnership with the Shuckers. “We’re out here, hopefully signing people up to ring the bell at Christmas and hopefully bring Angel Tree gifts. They’re also bringing canned goods and if they bring canned goods they receive a discount ticket at the gift shop. It’s hard to think about Christmas as the sweat rolls down our cheeks and that sort of thing, but we’re just thankful for our partnership with the Biloxi Shuckers.”
The fun at MGM Park will continue tomorrow as the ZOOperstars come to town.
