Christmas Cardboard Recycling

The Harrison County Beautification Commission held their annual Christmas Cardboard Recycling event over the weekend.

Partnered with Waste Management and Mississippi Power, Harrison County set up three separate locations where people could recycle their cardboard items.

The Christmas holiday is a popular time for cardboard build-up due to the influx of gifts received.

Beautification Director Kelly Griffin tells News 25 about the importance of recycling your cardboard. “The problem with the big cardboard boxes is that you can’t fit them in your recycle bin so they end up going on the side of the road and they blow away or blow all over the place or go to a landfill. So, what better way to get rid of them then to recycle them and give people the opportunity to do that.”
