Christian Collegiate Academy Basketball star signs with William Carey

For a high school basketball player as good as Mason Prince, it’s never too late to find a home at the next level.

This afternoon, the 6-foot-6 sharp shooter from Christian Collegiate Academy put pen to paper with William Carey in the form of a half scholarship.

As a senior, the D’Iberville transfer put up more than 24 points per game and eventually took home MAIS All-Star Game MVP honors.

Prince says better late than never, but never late is better. “It started, I think, after basketball season, yeah. Cause my coaches actually are awesome because they really stuck their noses out for me to get my name out there. It’s a new chapter in my life so nerves are really kicking, but other than that, I’m just trusting in God to get me through it.”

CCA Head Boys Basketball Tim Georgian said, “He’s got a really good IQ for the game. He shoots the ball really well, he dribbles the ball well and I feel like he could help any team. And I’m proud that he’s going to William Carey.”

William Carey Head Men’s Basketball Coach Steve Knight said, “Just meeting with him and his family he’s a high character kid, wants to get better and I think he likes the guys on our team because we’ve got a lot of guys on the team that are just like him.”

Prince joins a Crusaders team that was just two wins away from winning the NAIA National Championship this past season.
