Cheer Zone Athletics headed to national competition at Disney World

Cheerleaders from across the Coast are making their final preparations before they head to Florida for an intense nation wide competition.

The Cheer Zone Athletics Heat All-Star Squad held their final practice this evening before heading to Walt Disney World for ‘The Summit.’

The Heat received one of the select number of bids to the tournament where they will compete against other All-Star teams.

Both coaches and competitors say after not being able to compete in the Summit last year due to COVID-19, it’s nice to receive a bid and have a chance to make their mark once again. Cheer Zone Athletics Owner Shiela Perry said, “I mean, they’ve just come together and they’ve just proven that they’re not stopping, they’re going all the way, and I think that’s a testament to how much of a hard-working group they are, to show that they are willing to keep pushing and going no matter what it takes to the very end.”

Competitor Sierra Varner said, “All of us are super close, we all love each other, we’re all having fun at practice, we never have any drama or anything. It’s just a great team to be on, and I love each and every one of them.”

The Heat will travel to Orlando this Thursday and begin their competitions on Friday. A livestream of the competitions will be available at www.varsity.com.
