Charles R. Hegwood Community Market

Spring has sprung and that means the Charles R. Hegwood Biloxi Community Market is now officially open for the season.
Biloxi Main Street is celebrating the opening of the market with a festival all day.
If you can’t make it out today, the market will run every Tuesday and Thursday from 6 am to 4 pm on Howard Avenue under the I-110 overpass.
Vendors tell News 25 farmers markets like this one create a good atmosphere for residents to shop local where they can find everything from fresh produce to hand-crafted products.

“There are still a lot of us who make handmade items…unique handmade items for a great price.”
– Tessie Batten Tessie’s Creations

“It’s better than going to the store. They’ll get natural food and they’re not getting a lot of pesticides in the food and they know they’re getting fresh vegetables.”
– Mary Harrstin Local Farmer

In addition to the Weekly Market, once a month Biloxi Main Street will host festivals in conjunction with the market.
