Charles Clark named new Mayor Pro Tem in Diamondhead
Diamondhead City Council has voted to name a new mayor pro tem in the wake of Councilman Alan Moran’s recent arrest.
According to our media partner, the Sun Herald, the board unanimously voted last night to name Ward 4 Councilman Charles Clark as mayor pro tem, a role Moran had held since July 6th of last year.
In the event of the absence or disability of a mayor, the mayor pro tem takes over the mayor’s duties.
Moran was arrested February 14th in the Kiln on misdemeanor charges for simple assault and contributing to the delinquency of a minor related to his alleged conduct with a 17-year-old boy.
Moran was absent from last night’s meeting and has not announced any plans to resign from his city council seat.
The mayor and other council members have not commented on Moran’s arrest on the advice of the city attorney.
