Charged with two counts of armed robbery

A Gulfport man is behind bars following two consecutive armed robberies last night.
Thirty-year-old Christopher Powell was arrested and charged with two counts of armed robbery. Police say at about 7:50 last night a report came in of a white male entering the Circle K on Lorraine Road implying he was armed and demanding money.
The suspect fled on foot and less than 15 minutes later a second report came in of a similar armed robbery at Stuckey’s on Lorraine Road.
Officials located and arrested Powell in the area. He was taken to the Harrison County Jail under bonds totaling $300,000.
