Changes to CTA bus route 32

Last December the Coast Transit Authority and the City of Biloxi launched a new bus route on a trial basis.

For six months, route 32 had continuous service from Pass and Popp’s Ferry roads to Motsie Road, east of Cedar Lake. In hopes to boost ridership, CTA is re-launching the route and it will now extend service into the D’Iberville city limits and on to the Promenade Shopping Center.

Kevin Coggin, executive director of Coast Transit Authority, tells News 25 they are hoping the ridership will go from an average of three and a half to seven so the route can become permanent. “It gives riders in D’Iberville wanting to go to Biloxi to go to jobs and medical and shopping. Then we have people in Biloxi wanting to go shopping out to the Promenade and jobs. There are people wanting to go both directions, but we are giving the constituents what they want. That’s why we are doing what we are doing.”

Riders can expect route 32 to stay like this for at least six months.
