Challenging Same Sex Marriage
Mississippi is one of ten states challenging the US Supreme Court’s ruling of legalizing same-sex marriage nationally.
A bill working its way through the legislature would allow public employees refuse to issue marriage licenses or perform weddings for same-sex couples because of the employees’ religious beliefs.
Protestors took to the state capitol on Tuesday saying Mississippi is promoting discrimination through this legislation.
Earlier this week, the Governor of Georgia vetoed a similar bill.
