Casting call at the Coast Coliseum: extras needed Tuesday and Wednesday

The Coast Coliseum is setting the stage for shooting scenes two days this week in the revenge thriller “The Card Counter.”

Filming of the feature film has been underway for several weeks now on the Mississippi Gulf Coast. Tomorrow and Wednesday, thousands of extras are needed for shoots at the Coast Coliseum.

Casting Director Cher Foley says about a thousand extras are needed each day at the Coliseum as scenes for the film are shot.

Actress Tiffany Haddish is using social media to help round up people at the Coast Coliseum. “Tiffany is going to put a tweet out there.  We want anybody and everybody who is 18 and older to come out. And you don’t have to sign up.  You just need to show up.  You have to go to ‘Casting the Coast’ on Facebook.  I’m going to have instructions about what to bring to wear and once you come we really need you to stay all day for continuity.  All of people understand continuity when they watch movies.  You know collar up, collar down, collar up.  So it’s all about that. If you can come please stay all day, bring a friend, have fun, hangout with us. It will be a great time,” said Foley.

‘The Card Counter’ is a crime drama written and directed by Paul Schrader. Martin Scorsese is the executive producer of the film.

Actors include Willem Dafoe, Oscar Isaac, Tye Sheridan, and Tiffany Haddish. The film has been shot at various locations here in South Mississippi including the IP Casino in Biloxi.
