CASA Holds School Supplies Drive

Court Appointed Special Advocates, also known as CASA, takes an initiative to collect school supplies for children in foster care. CASA serves 160 foster kids in Hancock County, all under the age of 12.
They are looking for supplies such as writing tablets, crayons, binders and, most importantly, book bags. The school drive started earlier this month and will continue until July 31st. The supplies will be packaged and delivered personally by CASA volunteers.
Cynthia Chauvin, Hancock County CASA director, said, “These are innocent victims of child abuse. These are kids that desperately need to fit in at school and kids that, the school supplies are important to be ready to learn, but for our kids it’s psychological. They need to have what everyone else has.”
School supplies can be dropped off at the Bay St. Louis CASA office or any bank in Hancock County.
