CASA of Harrison County welcomes back executive director

After a few years of personnel issues and changes, CASA of Harrison County is turning a new page.
They are now welcoming back their original executive director Jeannie Herrin, who served from 2010 to 2014. Those who have worked with Herrin in the past call her a fierce advocate who they’re happy to have back on their team.
Court Appointed Special Advocates are a voice in court for the abused and neglected children of Harrison County. They’re always looking for volunteers and if you’re interested there’s an event coming up where you can learn more. “It is our goal to have at least 100 volunteers. We figure that if we have at least 100 volunteers we will be able to take care of the 700 to 900 children that are always in need of a CASA. We have an open house on August 29th from 4 to 7. That’s a time people can come in just to find out what CASA is all about,” said Herrin.
Again that open house is August 29th from 4 to 7 at the CASA of Harrison County Office. For more information call 228-865-7078.
