CASA of Hancock County king and queen reveal party

Thanksgiving and Christmas are right around the corner, but tonight in Hancock County the focus was on Mardi Gras.
CASA of Hancock County rallied up quite the crowd at the Lazy Magnolia for the 2018 Krewe of CASA king and queen reveal. John Zimmerman and Joy Richardson have the honor of holding the title over the next year.
The pair is excited to join the royal Krewe of CASA family, but they’re even more excited to give back to the community. “My heart’s always been with children. I’m a life-long native. I believe in what they’re doing and it’s my way of helping after I retire,” said Richardson.
Zimmerman said, “What these people do is completely amazing to me. It’s something I can’t do, but this is the way I give back to them to help them out with supporting their fundraisers and doing what I can to give back.”
The reveal party is a fundraiser and a way for CASA advocates and volunteers to help spread the word about the annual Mardi Gras Gala. Next year’s Gala will be on Saturday, January 13th.
