Career day at North Gulfport Middle School

It was an exciting day for students at North Gulfport Middle School.

The seventh and eighth graders had the chance to listen to police officers, business owners, fire fighters, EMTs, and many other representatives from different career fields for the annual Career Day.

The professional men and women spent the morning talking about their experiences and what lead them to their field of work.

School counselor Arneta Fairley says they can learn about these careers in the traditional class room, but there’s something different about hearing it from the people who live it every day. “This is a great opportunity to give back to our community by sharing with our students their job and their occupations to interest our students in finding their future because we want all of our students to know the possibilities that are out there.”

North Gulfport Middle School holds the career fair every year.
