Car crashes into bank in Gulfport
A woman was sent to the hospital this afternoon after crashing into a bank in Gulfport.
Around 1:30 this afternoon, officers responded to a crash on Pass Road by Courthouse Road. Upon arrival, officers found a vehicle that had lost control and crashed into the People’s Bank, striking one of the posts in front of the building. There was no major damage done to the building.
Sergeant Josh Bromen tells News 25 it is important for people to be cautious on the roadway. “She believed her accelerator had gotten stuck, but just, investigation of the vehicle just further revealed she just lost control of the vehicle. In order to avoid striking several cars, she veered off the roadway and that’s when she came in contact with the bank.”
Sgt. Bromen says the woman was taken to an area hospital for moderate injuries and is lucky no one else got hurt in the process.
