Car Collides with Train in Biloxi

A car collided with a train in Biloxi this afternoon.
According to police, a Mercedes Benz traveling southbound on Nixon Street attempted to cross the railroad tracks north of Esters Boulevard ahead of an oncoming train. The train hit the tail end of the vehicle.
Witness and residents in the area blame the collision on the lack of railroad crossing arms. Spring Grindle witnessed the accident. She said, “Actually my mom’s friends brother got hit by a train not too long ago and it makes me kind of nervous because my family drives from St. Martin to Biloxi every single day and I thought it might have been them, but it wasn’t.”
The two people inside of the vehicle refused medical attention on the scene and were released after officers finalized the investigation.
