Capitol officer fired after confrontation

According to the Clarion Ledger, a capitol police officer in Jackson has been fired after a confrontation with a man waving the Mississippi State flag.
It was all caught on video as the officer and several bystanders were standing outside the new Civil Rights Museum located in Jackson. The officer is seen in the video talking to a man and then trying to grab the flag. That’s when people began to shout ‘assault.’
The group holding the flags is known as the Delta Flaggers and travel around the state protesting at state institutions that do not fly the state flag.
According to the group, they were not protesting at the museum, but were in the area for an annual parade and wanted a picture in front of the new facility.
