Candlelight vigil for four fatal crash victims
Tonight a community will come together for a candlelight vigil in Gulfport to remember the four lives lost in a fatal car accident in Pearl River County last Saturday.
A head on collision that turned into a tragedy left three children and one woman dead last Saturday. Forty-six year-old Phenicia Chambers, 11-year-old Sa’Mya Magee, five-year-old Bryson Poole, and 11-year-old Me’Ori Le’Gier were killed in the accident.
Julisha Poole, the mother of Bryson and Sa’Mya, was also in the vehicle as well as 12-year-old Vakhia Abrams. They both are currently in the hospital recovering from their injuries.
Yesterday, News 25 spoke to Jantail Thomas, Julisha Poole’s neighbor, who took on the role of setting up tonight’s vigil. “They appreciate me doing this, but I would do this for anybody that goes through this. This is a sad tragedy. We as grown people lived our lives. Those kids haven’t lived their life at all.”
There will be a donation box to help the families that were affected. The vigil starts at 6 p.m. and anyone is welcome to attend.
