Candidates discuss community issues at the Ocean Springs Aldermen Forum

Ocean Springs political candidates gathered tonight to answer community questions and lay out their visions for the city.

The Ocean Springs Chamber of Commerce hosted the Ocean Springs Aldermen Forum at the City’s Civic Center.

Candidates for the mayoral race and seven board of aldermen spots had the chance to outline their platforms and answer questions submitted by the public on issues ranging from traffic concerns to city beautification.

Candidates at the forum say they’re glad to discuss these important topics with their opponents in a civil setting. Ocean Springs Ward 2 Aldermen Rickey Authement said, “People that run against each other for public office should not make it negative, even with their neighboring wards, because they’re all going to work on the board at some point if they get in office, and really they should keep it that way.”

The primary election for city offices will be held on April 6th.
