Camp Shelby Hosts Leadership Camp for JROTC

Every year JROTC camps are held in all 50 states to help mold the men and women who protect and defend our county. Mississippi’s Cadet Leadership Camp is held at Camp Shelby.
Army JROTC cadets chosen to attend the six day camp have demonstrated leadership qualities and the potential to hold a higher leadership position within their program.
There are more than 400 cadets attending this year’s leadership camp, all faced with the unique opportunity to push themselves above and beyond their perceived limitations. Once they arrive at camp, they’re quickly separated into companies with cadets they don’t know. Students begin their days at 5 a.m. working on leadership courses, learning and navigation skills, canoeing and rappelling until lights out at 9.
Companies at this year’s camp compete every night in a variety of games, all vying for the prestigious title of Honor Company.
