Buddy Bison School Program

Over 130 elementary students budded up with Harrah’s Gulf Coast and the national parks trust…to enjoy the outdoors.

Kids from Popp’s Ferry Elementary enjoyed the Buddy Bison Program…
An initiative which encourages children and their families to get outside and take advantage of the American park experience.

The youth program staff is dedicated to educating teachers and students on how to use our parks as fun outdoor classrooms with lessons that directly align with what kids learn in school.

“They will have an experience that will supplement what they’ve been doing as 4th graders back at Popp’s Ferry in the classroom but they’ll be able to see it in a whole new light and they’ll be able to see and make connections that we think will really benefit them for the rest of the year and the years to come.”
– Collin Knauss Youth Programs Manager, National Parks Trust

About a dozen volunteers from Harrah’s Gulf Coast assisted the park rangers.
Student spent hours hiking, filling out worksheets, and discovering more about the Mississippi Sandhill Crane National Wildlife Refuge.
