Bringing aid to the victims of violence
The Gulf Coast Center for Nonviolence and the Pascagoula Police Department partnered up to bring a unique conference to Biloxi.
The primary goal is to discuss and develop strategies for providing a safer and healthier community. Guest speakers are addressing domestic violence, sexual assault, and human trafficking in an effort to create more understanding.
They hope to provide knowledge that will benefit law enforcement, attorneys, social workers, and medical professionals when dealing with victims of violence. Stacey Riley with the Gulf Coast Center for Nonviolence said, “It’s all about collaboration. We work together with every agency that impacts people, that interact with people that have been a victim of domestic violence, sexual assault, and human trafficking. The more we collaborate and work together, the better the services we can bring forward and the more people we can reach with this. It is team work. It’s a community involvement.”
The three day conference wraps up Thursday. You can catch the final day at the Golden Nugget Casino’s grand ballroom from 7:30 a.m. until noon.
